Why Sapporo for Pokemon Cards?
Sapporo (札幌), the capital of Hokkaido, is Japan's northernmost major city and home to a growing card shop scene. Shops are concentrated along the historic Tanukikoji covered shopping arcade and in the Susukino entertainment district, both easily accessible from Sapporo Station.
Sapporo's card shops benefit from less competition than Tokyo, and stock can sometimes include regional exclusives or cards that have sold out elsewhere. The city is a popular tourist destination for its beer, ramen, and snow festivals, making card shopping a perfect complement to your Hokkaido trip.
